Blueberry Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 45 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, curved trunk covered in hard, wrinkled, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is pine-coloured.

The numerous branches are very long and thin and are covered with large amounts of tiny, asymmetrical leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are light brown with pastel orange tips.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of giant, beige blossoms with kidney-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a fairly strong scent that smells like a woman.

In early winter it produces , cuboid fruit. The crispy bold blue skin is thick and inedible, and the very soft brown flesh is sweet and juicy. The lime seeds are small and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is overwhelmingly resistant to fire damage.
