Crimson Vine

This small vine is a fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 12 feet (3.7 meters) and growing as high as 207 feet (63.1 meters).

It takes 3 months for the red stems to mature, by which point they often have a diameter of 2 cm (0.8 inches) and are rough and prickly.

The long, narrow, clammy leaves reach up to 4 inches (10 cm) in length. They are generally pastel red, and have jagged edges.

During late spring, the vine produces dozens of giant magenta flowers.
