Brown-Green Coniferous Shrub

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 104 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many sturdy, slanted stems covered in paper-thin, silky, brown-green bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.

The branches trail down towards the ground that and are covered with very large amounts of tiny, pleated, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are hazel with black tips, delicate and rough.

It produces large amounts of large, silver flowers with circular petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like honeysuckle. In late summer it forms smalllilac aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
