Crimson Vine

This colossal vine is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 2,213 feet (674.5 meters) and growing as high as 127 feet (38.7 meters).

It takes 45 years for the dull red stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 9 inches (23 cm) and are smooth and fuzzy.

The needle-like, crispy leaves reach up to 1.5 feet (46 cm) in length. They are found in grey, beige and lime varieties, and have wavy edges.

During late spring, the vine produces thick bunches of giant slate flowers.
