Bloodvine

This small leaf succulent grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The asymmetrical stem is gray-green, and is covered in brittle brown spines. The rounded leaves are a shade of emerald that gradient shifts to blood red at the top. Very large amounts of them grow on narrow, turquoise or gold branches that are very short and thin. The leaves are rigid, and easily come away when pulled.

It is very fast growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with blood red petals and a lime central disk grow at the top, reappearing after 2 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight tube. It has no scent.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the caramel flesh is rough, and the olive sap is thin.
