Pinkbell

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 126 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has many long and flexible, straight stems covered in silky, pine-coloured bark, and the wood inside is black with white speckles.

The branches are short, rigid and upright with dozens of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of huge, broad, flat, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid pink or blue, with purple lines, flimsy and fuzzy.

In mid-spring it produces thousands of small, dull red flowers with circular petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a strong scent that smells like rich perfume.
