Clinging Goldfruit

This small fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 29 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, curved trunk covered in very thick, ridged, dark green bark, and inside, the soft wood is yellow-brown.

The small bunches of branches are very long, thin and wispy and are covered with handfuls of small, thin leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are lime and hazel.

In early spring, it produces dozens of tiny, gold blossoms with 7 cylindrical shaped petals. They are very delicate and have no scent.

In late autumn it produces , long, straight fruit. The waxy amber skin is delicate and sweet and sour, and the crunchy pastel blue flesh is sweet and powdery. The brown seeds are large and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
