Bluevine

This enormous flower grows up to 14.2 feet (4.3 meters) tall. Its yellow stem is thin and straight, and the miniature, dark green and hazel leaves are very thick with wavy edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

A single small flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 56 cm (22.0 inches) wide, with bright blue petals and a purple central disk. The flower head is shaped like a dish with 53 tightly layered, narrow petals. They fall easily.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like pepper, and it has a fair amount of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
