Aquamarine

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This small cactus grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 3 tapering stems. Each stem is moss green, and is covered in lots of flexible aquamarine spines. The tear-shaped body is red, and is covered in lots of rigid muted orange spines.

It is slow growing, taking 43 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are brown on the edges and gold at the center, grow at the top, reappearing after 8 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 40 petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like meat.

The cactus's skin is rock-hard, the yellow flesh is slimy, and the black sap is thin.

All parts of the fruit tree are edible.
Ivy often grows along the trunk.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
