Grass type: Perennial (Grows the first year, flowers the second year, then dies)This big, yellow-green grass grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. The thick stalks grow in sparse patches that are rigid and they overwhelm an area rapidly.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, blood red flower.
During the early autumn, it produces very little pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a modest amount of small grains.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It blooms only at night.
