Burgundy Pine

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for over 3,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 3680 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, wonky trunk covered in thin, silky, burgundy bark, and inside, the very dense wood is pine-coloured.

The numerous branches are very long and slender, covered with small bunches of tiny, gray needles. The needles themselves are delicate.

In late summer it produces tiny, bold yellow berries.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
The sap is edible and overwhelmingly spicy.
