Amber Fruit Tree

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 54 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a slender, wonky trunk covered in thick, wrinkled, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is burgundy-brown.

The branches are very long and slender and are covered with large amounts of huge, finger-like leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are found in lilac and amber varieties.

In early spring, it produces thousands of small, gold blossoms with long, narrow petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like lavender.

In mid-summer it produces , circular fruit. The fuzzy red skin is thin and spicy, and the slightly crunchy aquamarine flesh is bitter and very dry. The grey seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
