Copperleaf

This small leaf succulent grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The very thin stem is orange-yellow, and is dotted with small hazel spines. The smooth-edged, broad, flat leaves are found in olive and olive varieties. Small bunches of them grow from the base in a loosely patterned way. The leaves are frail, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is fast growing, taking 6 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with peach petals that gradient shift to grey on the outer edge. The central disk is amber grows at the top, reappearing after 9 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a tube made up of 9 raised, narrow petals. It has the faintest scent that smells like cheap aftershave.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the turquoise flesh is leathery, and the copper sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.
