Copperflower

Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized flower grows up to 2.0 feet (61 cm) tall. Its emerald and orange-yellow stem is wispy, and the tiny, burgundy leaves are wispy with smooth edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Two large flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with beige petals on the lower layer and copper petals decorated with light brown dots on the inner layer. The central disk is caramel. The flower head is made up of 53 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight star. They detach easily.

It has a faint scent that smells like faeces, and it has very little pollen, but can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by one species of insect in particular.
