Black Moss

This black or pale orange moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In heathlands, In rainy mountain ranges, and In marshes.
It is large, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is slightly tough.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release hundred of spores.
