Aquamauve

This enormous flower grows up to 12.4 feet (3.8 meters) tall. Its brown stem is thin and splits into 7 branching stems at the base, and the large, brown leaves are thin with ripped edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

2 to 8 large flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 50 cm (19.7 inches) wide, with petals that are pastel purple on the edges and aquamarine at the center. The flower head is shaped like a cube made up of handfuls of raised, narrow petals. They detach easily.

It has a delicate scent that smells like old books, and it has very little pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind.
