Hazel

This short flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its pale green and black stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 3 and are thin and straight, and split into many branching stems a quarter of the way up, and the huge, pale green and black leaves are very narrow and elongated with jagged edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Two medium-sized flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with hazel petals and a muted orange central disk. The flower head is shaped like a cup with 21 widely spaced, narrow petals. They detach easily.

It has a delicate scent that smells like perfume, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is also particularly attractive to insects.
