Bloodvine

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 64 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, crooked trunk covered in fine, waxy, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the very light wood is yellow.

The tangled mess of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of giant, spear shaped leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are generally yellow.

In early spring, it produces many bunches of large, red blossoms with wide petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like wet dog.

In late autumn it produces , broad, flat fruit. The leathery blood red skin is thick and inedible, and the very soft muted orange flesh is bitter and sticky. The slate seeds are small and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
