Copperflower
Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This modest-sized flower grows up to 1.1 feet (33 cm) tall. Its copper stem is wispy, and the tiny, gold leaves are thin with smooth edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.
Two medium-sized flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide, with solid dark yellow petals decorated with brown lines and a bronze central disk. The flower head is largely flat with many raised narrow petals. They are hardy.
It has a strong scent that smells like a damp log, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind.
It commonly grows in large patches.
