Crimson Petal Flower

This enormous flower grows up to 15.4 feet (4.7 meters) tall. Its emerald stem is thick and splits into numerous branching stems halfway up, and the small, pale green or crimson leaves are needle-like with wavy edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

4 to 7 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 72 cm (28.3 inches) wide, with hazel petals and a muted orange central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 curved petals. They detach easily.

It has a powerful scent that smells like blood, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to bees.
