Crimson Needle Tree

This small tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 248 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, twisting trunk covered in ridged, dark brown bark, and inside, the light wood is brown.

The small handful of branches trail down across the ground, covered with handfuls of miniature, green needles. The needles themselves are flexible.

In late summer it produces tiny, red, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
