Rainbow Succulent
Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This short leaf succulent grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The thin stem is lime green, and is dotted with small bold orange spines. The bubbly leaves are peach and bold yellow. Large amounts of them grow on thin, intense red or gold branches that trail down to the ground. The leaves are flimsy, but do not detach easily.
It is slow growing, taking 50 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are either lilac or lime, with a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of 49 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight sphere. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like pot-purri.
The leaf succulent's skin is nearly impenetrable, the ashy blue flesh is soft, and the cream sap is thin and causes vomiting if consumed.
It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
