Amberfern

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 39 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has numerous long and flexible, slanted stems covered in fine, ridged, brown-green speckled bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.

The branches trail down to the ground with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of huge, finger-like, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are found in amber and lime varieties, light and smooth.

In mid-summer it produces hundreds of small, intense green flowers with slender, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have no scent.
