Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In marshes.
It is big, growing up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is very robust.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release millions of spores.
