Blackstem Grass

This short, gray grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The stiff, pointed stalks grow in extensive patches that are resilient.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a medium-sized, black tuft.

During the early autumn, it produces a fair amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with copious amounts of small grains.
