Copperfern

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 92 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous thick, slanted stems covered in paper-thin, wrinkled, pine-coloured bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.

The branches trail down towards the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of miniature, 5 pointed, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are yellow at the bottom and grey with orange lines at the top, resistant and smooth.

In early summer it produces thousands of medium-sized, gentle orange flowers with pleated petals. They fall easily and have a faint scent that smells like a newborn baby.
