Bloodvine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This giant bine is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 716 feet (218.2 meters) and growing as high as 862 feet (262.7 meters).

It takes 13 years for the green stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 4.7 feet (1.4 meters) and are thick and twisted.

The needle-like, leathery leaves reach up to 10 inches (25 cm) in length. They are gentle orange on the sides and black at the center, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the bine produces hundreds of large blood red flowers.

It commonly grows in large patches.
