Caramel Flower

This small flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its yellow-green stem is very thick and splits into 4 branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the huge, dark brown or olive leaves are pleated with ripped edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Many small flowers grow in bunches along the stem. The flowers are 11 cm (4.3 inches) wide, with petals that are black at the sides and caramel at the center. The flower head is made up of 8 petals in raised layers. They detach easily.

It has a powerful scent that smells like pine needles, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by a small species of bird.
