Brown Moss

This dark brown and yellow moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In rainy mountain ranges, On rotten logs, and In heathlands.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they are exceptionally hardy, and is extremely frail.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release millions of spores.
