This copper moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In rainforests.
It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is overwhelmingly durable; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release dozens of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.

It is often referred to as the most beautiful of all flowers.
It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
It is suitable for making paper
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
