Aquamarine

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 190 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has many flexible, straight stems covered in rough, light brown bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches are very short, thin and wispy that and are covered with sparse amounts of huge, circular, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are aquamarine and light brown, flimsy and soft.

In mid-spring it produces a handful of tiny, dark grey blossoms with spear shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like coconut.

In early autumn triangular fruits ripen. The rubbery hazel skin is tough and inedible, and the soft slate flesh is sweet and very dry. The olive seeds are small and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.
