Bloodvine

Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This giant flower grows up to 10.1 feet (3.1 meters) tall. Its green stem is thin and straight, and the small, emerald or vivid blue leaves are circular with smooth edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Two giant flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 134 cm (52.8 inches) wide, with petals that are brilliant green at the sides and blood red at the center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 46 curved petals. They detach easily.

It has a soft scent that smells like old books, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
