Blueberry Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 40 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 64 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, crooked trunk covered in thick, wrinkled, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the light wood is brown.

The excessive amount of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with copious amounts of large, fan-like leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are solid vivid blue with hazel splotches.

In early spring, it produces several giant, sky blue blossoms with circular shaped petals. They are hardy and have an intense scent that smells like garlic.

In mid-autumn it produces small, slender, 8 pointed fruit. The fuzzy gold skin is thick and inedible, and the soft green flesh is sweet and sticky. The deep green seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.

Both the grass and the grains are bitter and overwhelmingly toxic.
