Bluefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Sheds its leaves in winter)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 20 feet (6.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 52 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, crooked trunk covered in thick, waxy, dark brown bark, and inside, the light wood is pale brown-grey.

The small bunches of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with large amounts of tiny, spear shaped leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are orange and light brown.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of large, white blossoms with umbrella-shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like cigarette smoke.

In mid-autumn it produces very large, fan-like fruit. The sticky bold red skin is thick and inedible, and the slightly crunchy sky blue flesh is sour and dry. The light yellow seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It coexists peacefully with other plants.
