Red Spiral Moss

This red moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In bogs, In moorlands, and In heathlands.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they are exceptionally hardy, and is slightly flimsy; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release dozens of spores.
