Purple Spined Caudiciform

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 48 feet (14.6 meters) tall. The spear shaped stem is silver, and is covered in large amounts of flexible purple spines. It has a straight, round, vivid yellow trunk atop a wide tripod of ridged, exposed roots. The branches are round and brown and are tall, rigid and upright.

The ripped-edged, umbrella-shaped leaves are purple and cyan. They are rigid, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is steady-growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are blood red on the edges and brown at the center grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of 6 petals in raised layers. It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like apple.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the hazel flesh is leathery, and the pink sap is thin.

It is suitable for making paper
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
