Copper

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This giant shrub grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 116 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of branched, angular stems covered in delicate, rough, yellow-brown bark, and the wood inside is white with black speckles.

The branches are short and thin with thousands of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of tiny, long, tapering, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are copper and caramel, durable and smooth.

In late summer it produces thousands of small, magenta flowers with fan-like petals. They detach easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like wet dog.

It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
