Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing small areas On rotten logs, and In damp forests.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they are exceptionally hardy, and is slightly resilient.
When mature, emerald triangular capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release thousands of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
