Burgundy Honeysuckle

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 42 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has dozens of sturdy, curved stems covered in smooth, burgundy bark, and the wood inside is brown.

The branches are short, rigid and upright that and are covered with copious amounts of giant, circular, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are generally lime, frail and soft.

In late summer it produces many balls of small, beige flowers with spear shaped petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like honeysuckle.
