Silverbrush

This large shrub grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for around 21 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous wide, angular stems covered in very thick, waxy, silver bark, and the wood inside is burgundy.

The branches trail down towards the ground with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of small, pleated, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are cyan and blue, hardy and clammy.

In late summer it produces many small, intense yellow blossoms with finger-like petals. They are sturdy and have an intense scent that smells like alcohol.

In midwinter oval fruits ripen. The soft magenta skin is peel-able and inedible, and the soft sky blue flesh is slightly salty and powdery. The green seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.
