Copperfruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 37 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in thick, rough, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is yellow-brown.

The numerous branches trail down across the ground and are covered with thick bunches of small, asymmetrical leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are either turquoise or copper, with bold blue zig-zags.

In early spring, it produces a handful of small, copper blossoms with fan-like petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a soft scent that smells like new carpet.

In early summer it produces small, spherical fruit. The waxy lilac skin is peel-able and spicy, and the crunchy light grey flesh is sweet and very juicy. The silver seed is small and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.

Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
It is suitable for making paper
