Copperberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 38 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in thin, waxy, silver bark, and inside, the light wood is white with black speckles.

The small handful of branches are short and thick and are covered with copious amounts of huge, thick leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of copper that gradient shifts to gold at the top.

In early spring, it produces hundreds of small, ashy blue blossoms with pleated petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like fresh linen.

In late summer it produces , cuboid fruit. The fuzzy cream skin is tough and inedible, and the slightly crunchy grey flesh is sour and very juicy. The grey seeds are small and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.

The sap causes severe allergic reactions.
