Bloodvine

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This small leaf succulent grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall. The finger-like stem is orange-yellow, and is covered in brittle blood red spines. The irregular-edged, very thin leaves are found in lime and hazel varieties. Large amounts of them grow from the base in alternating layers of 2, then 4, then 6, and so on. The leaves are resilient, but detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with lilac petals on the lower layer and yellow petals decorated with peach dots on the inner layer. The central disk is peach, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of 18 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight star. It has a faint scent that smells like damp.

The leaf succulent's skin is delicate, the bright purple flesh is rubbery, and the blood red sap is thin.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
A particular bird species likes to nest in it.
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
