Bloodvine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This large bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 319 feet (97.2 meters) and growing as high as 114 feet (34.7 meters).

It takes 8 months for the gray stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 1.6 feet (48 cm) and are smooth and woody.

The pleated, rough leaves reach up to 2.0 feet (61 cm) in length. They are solid hazel or lime, with blood red lines, and have wavy edges.

During late spring, the bine produces a thick sheet of giant hazel flowers, and during the late summer, after flowering, it produces a few large berries.

All parts of the moss are edible.
