Silvervine

Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.3 feet (38 cm) tall. Its silver stems grow in bunches of 4 and are very thick with a curved tip, and the tiny, red leaves are very thick with smooth edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

A single giant flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 49 cm (19.3 inches) wide, with brown petals and a caramel central disk. The flower head is largely flat with 18 raised narrow petals. They are sturdy.

It has a faint scent that smells like blood, and it has lots of pollen; it can can cause allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
