Ashy Blue

This short flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its yellow-green and lime green stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 6 and are wispy and straight, and split into dozens of branching stems halfway up, and the miniature, gray leaves are long, tapering with smooth edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

Each stem splits 3 to 6 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with alternating petals of ashy blue and pink, with a crimson central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 42 curved petals. They detach easily.

It has a weak scent that smells like warm cookies, and it has lots of pollen; it can can cause allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also particularly attractive to bees.
