Crimson Cactus

This giant cactus grows up to 112 feet (34.1 meters) tall. The asymmetrical stem is lime green, and is covered in thousands of fine, crimson, hair-like spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 21 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with alternating petals of caramel and pale orange, with a pink central disk, grow at the top, reappearing after 9 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 40 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight trumpet. It has a strong scent that smells like musk.

The cactus's skin is thin, the silver flesh is rough, and the indigo sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.
