Bronzeberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 25 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in thick, ridged, dark brown bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale brown-grey.

The extensive patches of branches are very short and thin and are covered with small amounts of small, very thin leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are solid caramel or peach, with light brown edges.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of small, bronze blossoms with wide petals. They are sturdy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like bleach.

In early winter it produces small, needle-like fruit. The clammy lime skin is thin and edible when boiled; it is sweet, and the slightly crunchy magenta flesh is sweet and sour and oily. The grey seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
