Brownwood
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)This average-sized tree grows up to 30 meters (98.4 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 67 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a very thick, wonky trunk covered in fine, wrinkled, brown bark, and inside, the hard wood is brown.
The small handful of branches are very long, thin and wispy and are covered with copious amounts of waxy, huge, perforated leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are either lime, or purple with blood red lines.
In early spring, it produces dozens of small, slate blossoms with stiff, pointed petals. They fall easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like ashes.
In late summer it forms large, purple berries.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
Both the grass and the grains are bitter and extremely toxic.
