Amberflower

This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its amber stem is thick and splits into 4 branching stems at the top, and the tiny, washed-out green and yellow leaves are spear shaped with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Two small flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with cream petals and a brown central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 42 petals. They detach easily.

It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like rainy days, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
